Association of Transportation Law Professionals ("ATLP") is an independent nonprofit organization of transportation professionals. Its purpose is "to equip its members with the necessary tools to be vital resources for their companies, firms, customers and clients who compete in a constantly changing and increasingly global transportation and logistics marketplace.
The Association is committed to providing transportation professionals with opportunities for continued educational development in transportation law and practice. In addition to helping its members maintain high standards of professional practice and conduct, the Association also keeps its members abreast with related areas of interest and importance. Interests of our members include antitrust, aviation, maritime, motor, rail, logistics, energy, pipeline, labor, safety, and environmental matters.

Subject: Reese H. Taylor, Jr.
Jolene Taylor, wife of Reese H. Taylor, notified me that Reese passed away on Friday, April 16, 2010 in Las Vegas, NV. Reese was 81 years of age. His death was the result of a long illness and hospitalization.
Reese will be warmly remembered by his many friends and associates.
He was the Chairman of the Interstate Commerce Commission from 1981 - 1985, appointed by President Ronald Reagan. His historical mpact on the transportation world, both from his administration of the ICC, his involvement in all aspects of the deregulation of railroads and motor carriers, his law practices in California and Nevada and his fervent conservative views, were major hallmarks of his professional business life.
Mr. Taylor was born in Los Angeles, CA on May 6, 1928. In 1967-1971 he was Chairman of the Public Service Commission of Nevada and also vice chairman of the Nevada Tax Commission. Reese Taylor graduated from Stanford University (1949) and Cornell Law School (1952).
