- FMCSA issues a Notice establishing a Safe Driver Apprenticeship Pilot Program allowing employers to establish apprenticeship programs that would enable 18-, 19-, and 20-year-old drivers with Commercial Drivers Licenses to operate a commercial motor vehicle in interstate commerce.
- DOT Secretary Pete Buttigieg announces that Robin Hutcheson has been named Deputy Administrator of FMCSA and its acting administrator.
- The Utah Transit Authority recently appointed Jay Fox to be its Executive Director. ATLP featured Jay in 2020 where he discussed his experience as a Deputy General Counsel at SEPTA, Director of Host Railroads at Amtrak, FTA Regional Counsel for Region 3, and an attorney with FAA.
- The Senate confirmed Amit Bose to be the 15th administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration.
- CSX, led by its CEO Jim Foote, participated in a two-day virtual public hearing before the Surface Transportation Board for its acquisition of Pan Am Railways in Finance Docket 36472.
- Telecommunication companies will delay implementation of 5G near airports over airline fears of plane interference.
- WMATA General Manager Paul Wiedefeld announces his retirement.
- The Surface Transportation Board swears in Karen Hedlund as its newest board member.
